Satyana's not playing along.....

I feel totally skeevy posting candid shots of celebrities and their kids while they are trying to live their lives. I know that photogs and paparazzi come with the territory, but when there are kids involved it is different. The complete and total adorableness of these shots overruled my sense of decency. That and the fact that I am pretty sure these were taken from a long lens as opposed to the pap frenzy that surrounds some celebrities.

These shots of the Denisof family were taken on 2 separate days, but on both occasions the adorable munchkin that is Satyana Denisof seems to love popping her head up to see what is going on. I am sure that the reason Aly and Alexis have her in a stroller like this is to avoid too many photos of her being taken. But Satyana doesn't seem to be on board with the whole protecting her adorable mug from the masses.

This is one family that seems genuinely happy and not yet completely screwed up by Hollyweird living. I really really hope it stays that way.

Celebrity Babies are sooooo 2009

The late 2000's were most definitely the year of the celebrity baby. Suri, Shiloh, Violet, Harlow, Bronx, Apple........ the list is long and varied. The names ranged from the traditional - Grace Charlotte Prinz (daughter of Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr) to the different - Satyana Denisof (daughter of Alyson Hannigan and Alexis Denisof) to the downright wacky - Sparrow (son of Nicole Ritchie and Joel Madden). I am not judging the names - simply pointing out that they are not the names that regular folks like you and I would give our children.

But that is so completely passe. Did you notice, that even this early in 2010, celebrity engagements seem to be the the new celebrity babies.

According to US Weekly Russel Brand and Katy Perry got engaged while on a romantical vacation in India. While no official confirmation has come from either of the 2 stars, the magazine claims that multiple sources have confirmed to them that they are betrothed. The two have had a quick courtship if it is true! They only started dating a few months ago but seem pretty happy.

Just before Christmas, country superstar Carrie Underwood got engaged to Mike Fisher from the Ottawa Senators. The notoriously press shy couple's engagement was inadvertently announced by one of Mikes friends to the Twitter world. Carrie's publicist has since confirmed the engagement. This couple is so low key, that there are only a handful of pics of them together. Underwood is quite a traditional small town girl. I suspect her wedding will be big big big... just like the massive rock she is sporting!

Finally, People.com is reporting that shock rocker Marilyn Manson popped the question to girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood. Though the two have a tumultuous on again off again relationship and have only been back together for a shot while Manson supposedly proposed while performing on stage in Paris. While I personally don't get the attraction to Manson, Wood is not a silly girl. I like to think the True Blood star would not be hoodwinked by a slick line. Sigh. I was happy when I thought she was dating her co-star Alexander Skarsgard. They fight and break up every few months so we shall see what happens.

And don't even get me started on Miley Cyrus blabbing off how she can't wait to get married and have babies (her christian code for the sex). Does she think she is fooling anyone? Any teenage who knows how to work a pole like she did at the VMA's last year, certainly knows how to work poles of a different kind as well.

Statistically if all four of these couples tie the knot, half of them will end in divorce. But given they are all under the Hollyweird spotlight - I would up that to three out of four! At least. No matter how golden and perfectly suited they may seem. Remember Brad and Jen? THE Perfect couple. Yea, it was five years ago today they announced their split. Brad moved on to start a small country with Angie, while Jen is still trying to find a role that is not Rachel Greene.

Cop Convicted in SJP Surrogate Theft - yes, a Cop!

Since the birth in late June, and the release of one family photo a week later, we have seen very little of Marion & Tabitha Broderick - twin daughters of Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, born via a surrogate. The family have kept a very low profile, which is pretty surprising considering Sarah has been hard at work filming the Sex & The City 2 sequel for the past few months. Good for them! Although, if I am honest with ya'll I would secretly really like to see a new batch of photos of these budding fashionista's.

The family was back in the press late yesterday with news out of Ohio of a conviction in the theft case surrounding the surrogate mother of the girls. Police Chief (yes, Police Chief) Barry Carpenter was found guilty of three of the six charges he was accused of - receiving stolen property, tampering with evidence and theft in office.

Apparently Police Chief Barry Carpenter, along with Police Chief Chad Dojack - who goes on trial in January - met with "freelance photographers" offering ultrasound pictures, photos, legal documents about the surrogacy agreement and other items. By "freelance photographers" I am assuming they mean paparazzi..... How heinous is that? Carpenter claims that the conversations with the photographers were a joke, and that he only entered the house of Ross when he noticed a door ajar. BULLS*IT.

Holy mother f*ckers. Is anyone else totally and completely creeped out by this whole situation. I know that not all police are exactly ethical - or moral for that matter (a vast majority are I am sure), this is just beyond horrible. To break into a pregnant woman's house and steal ultrasound images that you are planning on selling to the highest bidder? This just makes me cringe. It would be horrible if a regular dirtbag did it, but for someone whose job it is to uphold and enforce the law? Asshole. Special place in hell for people like this.

There are no words for what I hope happens to this guy in prison. But let me just say that I hope his cellmate wanted to "Save Ferris" at some point in his life.

Meet Charlotte Grace Prinze

Just under 2 months ago we learned that Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr had welcomed their first child - daughter Charlotte Grace - into the world. At that time, I wondered when we would get our first glimpse of this new family. Well, we had to wait just under 2 months. 2 months is not bad. And they seem to have quite the relationship with People magazine who not only broke the story of Charlotte's birth, but also have the exclusive photos and interview with the happy family.

And all I can say is OMG!!! Cuteness. She is so completely and utterly adorable. And Sarah and Freddie seemed to have settled into their new roles quite nicely. Apparently Sarah went into labour at the gym, but dismissed it as the repercussions of a spicy meal the night before. Wowsers!

In the article Sarah speaks of her "mom brain" - how she forgets everything unless it is written down, how "peaceful" Charlotte's birth was - aided in large part by the epidural she had, and how becoming a mother has helped her lose some of her Type A tendencies. Centred, grounded and peaceful are words that come up a lot in this article.

This press shy couple have been married for 7 years - and state that they chose to wait what many would consider a long time before having a family because they were too selfish in their twenties to bring a child into the world. I love this response - that they waited - not only to get the crazy selfish twenties out of the way, but to also ensure that they had a strong foundation in which to raise a family. Such old souls!

Charlotte Grace is a lucky little girl. This beautiful child has what seems like two very grounded parents who would do anything for her. I am looking forward to seeing Charlotte grow up! I am also very excited to see her daddy on the new season of 24 in January. Also can't wait for Sarah's return to TV on The Wonderful Maladys..... although their are rumours that it no longer has a home. To which I say to HBO - Boo f*cking hiss to you!

Buffy had a baby girl!

It seems like Sarah Michelle Gellar has been pregnant forever doesn't it? Hard to believe that it was only April when Buffy the Vampire Slayer announced that she was knocked up with her first child. And then we had to contend with many many photos, scrutinising every angle, trying to figure out how far along she was. I had a feeling it was an any day now kind of thing.

After being spotted out and about late last week attending her regular Pilates class, SMG snuck off to hospital on Saturday and finally had her little bundle of joy. People magazine is reporting that Sarah Michelle and husband Freddie Prinze welcomed daughter Charlotte Grace on Saturday. "The family is over the moon" said a representative for SMG.

Love the name. Not that I have a problem with some of the more wacky celebrispawn names out there.... Sparrow, Suri, Bronx, Kingston etc. It is just that Charlotte Grace is such a classic, beautiful and classy name! Well played Buffy (Sarah), well played!!

This is a notoriously press-shy couple. I am not sure if we will see baby Charlotte Grace out and about any time soon. Maybe they will release a family image to stave off the prying photogs. I hope so!

What Suri Wore (& why she wore it)

In less than a month I will have bid a fond farewell to my friends Karin & Debbie in Boston, and have made my way to New York City. I haven't really done much research on what to do in Boston yet, but I do know that there are a number of movies with high profile celebrities attached to them currently filming. As i have had no luck in Vancouver seeing celebrities, I will likely run into every famous person in the Boston area. Although I did see

The most prominent, of course, is the couch jumper himself - Mr Tom Cruise who is in Boston filming Wichita with Cameron Diaz. Wife Katie and adorable robot-baby Suri are also in town. When I say robot-baby, it is not a dig at the whole Scientology thing or the theory that Tom has somehow brainwashed Katie into being with him. Honestly, it is not. It is simply because Suri is to fricking adorable to be real. Srsly. That little girl is gorgeous!

Photos have been circulating of three year old Suri in heels. Yes, I said heels. She is three years old and is wearing high heels. Some are saying that is innocent and adorable. Suri is clearly a girly-girl with the wearing dresses 24-7, so heels is not a far stretch right? And its not like they are 6 inch hooker heels. They are cute little peep-toes. There are others who are using this as yet another example of how crazy and inappropriate the Cruises are.

I have a whole theory on this. The reason that 3 year old Suri is wearing heels now is because 12 year old Suri will not be wearing them. Ever. Tommy-Boy is not gonna allow the female fruit of his loins to tower above him on a red carpet, on the street or even at their house. It is rough enough for him that 2 out of his 3 wives have been about a foot taller than him. That his kids are way taller than him already. I don't think that they make lifts big enough.

Katherine Heigl adopts a baby!

I have said it before - Katherine Heigl irritates me just a little. I have no problem with her speaking her mind, even when she corrected the person who had just mispronounced her name when announcing her Emmy win a few years ago. I mean, I get really peeved if people call me Susan instead of Suzanne. So I guess I understand that. I also appreciated how she stood up for bestie TR Knight with the whole Isiah Washington situation. I am a big believer is doing what you gotta do for your peeps!

It was the whole public statement about her belief that she was not given the material so she was withdrawing her name from Emmy consideration the following year bulls*hit (neglecting to clarify that she had asked for a lighter storyline to accommodate her burgeoning movie career). Followed by her ridiculous complaint on national television that she had to work a 17 hour day on Grey's Anatomy (failing to mention that the long day was to accommodate the very press tour she was on).

I think that was when I started to think she was pretty much a Diva (and not an Aretha Franklin R.E.S.P.E.C.T diva) and a f*cking ungrateful one at that.

I am not going to forget that she is a rude, entitled Princess, but I can gush just a little over these adorable photos of Katherine, husband Josh Kelly and newly adopted daughter Nancy Lee, nickname Naleigh. She announced just last week on Ellen DeGeneres' show that they were adopting a 10 month old daughter from Korea. These photos were released on the "Jason Heigl Foundation" website and they are super cute. Look at those chubby little arms. OMG! So adorable. My cold blackened heart is thawing, just for a few minute.

They already look like such a happy family. Although Katherine is an uber- brat, I am sure she will be a great mother. I truly wish them much happiness. Maybe Naleigh will make her realise how incredibly fortunate she actually is to be living such a privileged life. Maybe she will stop being such an asshole. I hope so.

Baby Boy for RENT Stars

PEOPLE magazine is reporting that Tony Award winner Idina Menzel and hubby Taye Diggs welcomed their first child - son Walker Diggs - to the world today. Massive love and congratulations to them both!

The two met during the Original Broadway Production of RENT in 1996, where Idina played the tempestuous Maureen and Taye was the loathsome Benny. They were married in 2003, and both reprised their roles in the movie version of RENT. Idina went on to become one of the most sought after performers on Broadway, winning a Tony award in 2004 for her portrayal of Elphaba in Wicked.

Taye has also gone on to much success on the small screen and is currently starring on ABC's Private Practice.

Here is a clip of the 2008 Tony Awards. Not super focused on Idina and Taye, but is super cute. Love love love RENT. Saw it on it's last week on Broadway last year. Literally cried like a baby from start to finish. Was kinda embarrassing, but that is how much this show moved me.

These are two clips that show Idina's amazing voice. First is a scene from Rent and second is from the 2004 Tony Awards where she sings Defying Gravity from Wicked. She was apparently under the weather during this performance so her voice is not as amazing as it can be. Still sh*ts on anything most people could do, but thought you should be aware.

I Cannot Comprehend The Cuteness!

Alyson Hannigan was spotted out and about in Santa Monica over the weekend with her precious little cherub Stayana. I mean, isn't she just the most adorable? We haven't seen to many shots of her around the interwebs, as Aly and hubby Alexis have been careful to shield her from the photogs. But occasional shots should be encouraged - simply because there are no words for the extreme cuteness.

Look at that face. And those chubby little arms and legs. She melts my cold black heart. She really truly does. So much cuteness! It should be illegal. Okay, gushing over.

Alyson is back at work on the set of How I Met your Mother, which comes back for it's 5th Season on September 21st. I love this show, it is super funny and is finally getting the props it deserves with a best comedy Emmy nomination. Of course it also stars the man who needs to be my gay best friend Neil Patrick Harris.

Not only is NPH hosting the Emmy's, he is also the reason I will be watching American Idol this season - simply to see his guest judging duties. I heart him so much.

Sarah Michelle Gellar - Fashion > Comfort

Sarah Michelle Gellar met up with a few friends for lunch on Friday at the Casa Del Mar Hotel in Santa Moncia and I gotta say you go girl for wearing those heels when you are clearly very very pregnant! I personally have enough trouble ever wearing heels that high, let alone when you are about 12 months pregnant! But I am a sneaker kinda gal.

SMG is due to give birth to her first child with Hubby Freddie Prinze Jr this fall. And she looks amazing. Skinny jeans, hawt black heels - everything is a fashion win! I am very much looking forward to her popping out her little munchkin - I am sure he/she will also be a fashion do!

Sarah Michelle Gellar - doting dog owner

A few quick snaps of Sarah Michelle Gellar taking her beloved dog to it's weekly vet visit. She seems like such a devoted dog owner, I can't imagine how amazing she is going to be as a mother! Any day now I think! So excited for her and Freddy.

I also found these photos of her Baby Shower that was held earlier this month. It looked like a fun time was had by all. Co star Michelle Trachetenberg was there, as were friends Shannen Doherty, Kristen Chenoweth and good friend Lindsay Sloane. SMG looks super happy and excited about her mommy-to-be status. Can't wait until she pops her precious bundle of joy out!

I am happy that she is still friends with Michelle, who played her little sister on Buffy. I didn't know she was such good friend with either Kristen or Shannen. How amazing would it have been if Kristen had sang at the shower? She has a great voice!

Sarah Michelle Gellar out in So-Cal

A few quick snaps of Sarah Michelle Gellar out and about in So Cal this weekend. Again looking fantastic and glowing and radiant and all the other things women with child are supposed to look.

Sarah has spent the past little while back home in California after wrapping up shooting on her HBO series The Wonderful Maladies. Set in Gotham, this half hour series revolves around the lives of three siblings (SMG, Molly Parker and Nate Cordry) who lost their parents at a young age. I am very very excited to see Sarah back on the small screen, even if it is not as my beloved Buffy Summers. Sigh. Maybe one day, the stars will align and we will have out Buffy reunion.

Sarah Michelle Gellar - Buffy's Baby Shower

What to give the future child of the Vampire Slayer? A pint sized stake just seems so obvious. The stunningly pregnant Sarah Michelle Gellar had her baby shower on Saturday in So-Cal and of course she looked adorable. Sigh. Pregnancy completely suits SMG. Some women, even those totally in the public eye like SMG, look tired and schlumpy at this stage of their pregnancy. But Sarah looks fantastic!

Apparently hubby Freddie Prinze Jr was also in attendance at the shower. Not long to go now! So excited to see what she has.

Gwen Stefani & Gavin Rossdale are, hands down, one of the most stunning couples around. And their little lambs, Zuma and Kingston are adorable little munchkins. Love this family so much.

Sadness is that I didn't go and see No Doubt when they were recently here in Vancity.
