Sarah Palin is a Quitter

Even the surprise resignation of Sarah Palin as the Governor of Alaska failed to bump the ongoing speculation regarding Michael Jackson from CNN's Larry King Live. Why does this not surprise me?

The one time Vice-Presidential candidate announced today that she would not be seeking re-election in 2010. Rather than sitting out her term as a "lame duck", and with the full support of her family, Palin has decided to step down as Governor at the end of the month, a move that has surprised Politico's across the US. It has also fueled long standing rumours that she will be mounting a Presidential campaign for 2012. Ugh. Considering that she has only been Governor for 2 and a half years, she would be hard-pressed to convince voters that she has the experience to become the leader of the free world in 2012. I prefer the other rumour that she is leaving politics completely. Many pundits, both left and right wing have raised the idea that this is the final nail in Palin's political coffin. I hope so. I guess time will tell.

It was a rambling, somewhat disjointed speech. She claims she was candid in her reasons, but I really have no idea why she resigned. Apparently we should be congratulating her for being a quitter? Sure, I will. If it means she will never hold public office again. I may even send flowers. The Governor took no questions. Not very "mavericky" of her is it? You betcha!

XO
